MINUTES OF JANUARY 9, 2007 MEETING

I.                   The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. Ken introduce Dave Whitley who has expressed a desire to join the board.

 

II.                Minutes of the board meeting on November 13, 2006 were reviewed and approved as written.

 

III.             Treasurers Report:

 

A.    Financial reports were reviewed and accepted. Troy reported five outstanding accounts, one with an existing lien. Troy requested that the four outstanding accounts have liens applied. Ken will speak to each of the homeowners one last time before applying the liens.

 

IV.             Committee Reports:

 

A.    CC& R’s:

1.      Ken reported that the homeowners at 562 E Heritage Loop have a car parked in their back yard which is visible from the street. Board member Golliher confirmed that all their vehicles have had Oregon licenses for at least 3 years. Ken will speak to the homeowners regarding the car in the yard and will contact the La Center Police Dept. regarding the Oregon licenses.

2.      Ken reported that after numerous conversations with the homeowners at 953 E 15th Circle they still have not built a fence to enclose their boat.

3.      Roger reported that he has seen possums in the unkempt back yard at 540 E Heritage Loop. The home is unoccupied and is possibly in foreclosure.

4.      Ken will continue to contact the homeowners at 1132 E Pioneer Loop regarding their dumping of yard debris against the vinyl fence around the retention pond. A letter may become necessary.

V.                Old Business:

 

A.    Christmas lights contest winners: 1st prize - Keith & Sherry Warren, 1253 E Caples Court, 2nd prize – Dotti & Jerry McGuiness, 656 E Pioneer Loop, 3rd prize - Rose & James Crismon, 744 E Heritage Loop. All of the winners were thrilled with their prizes.

 

VI.             New Business:

A.    Easter Egg Hunt: the Easter egg hunt will be Saturday March 31, 2007. It was decided to continue with the three prizes, one for each age group. Ken will purchase more eggs.

B.     Newsletter: A newsletter will be mailed in March to announce the Easter egg hunt. A phone number will be listed to call if a street light is out. Also, the service provided by the La Center Police Dept. to watch homes where the residents are on vacation will be explained. It was decided to send a post card to announce the annual meeting in May rather than an additional newsletter so close to the March issue. The meeting will also be announced on the Cities reader board and with the usual signs in the neighborhood.

C.    Ken reported that the La Center Police Dept. is ordering a digital traffic control sign that will sit on a trailer for placement randomly through the neighborhood in an attempt to slow the traffic to the accepted speed.

D.    The meeting was concluded with a brief orientation and history for Dave and answered questions regarding the BOD activities.

 

                        Next meeting scheduled for March 12, 2007.
